Ordering & Production
What does ‘made to order’ mean?
We only produce garments once an order is placed. This helps us reduce waste, focus on quality, and ensure that each item is made with care. This also means we make it in-house with staff that are paid a liveable wage.
How long does production take?
Our standard production time is approximately 5 days (but generally shorter) before shipping. Since we make each piece individually, this ensures a better fit and higher quality. If you would like your order faster, please let us know in customer notes in order and we’ll try our very best, we’ll also communicate with you.
Can I request a custom size or alteration?
We offer sizes from S to 6XL, we can alter in terms of length if possible as we cut to order, however this means your garment is bespoke and cannot be returned. Our garments are designed to fit a variety of body shapes. If you’re not sure if a garment will suit your body-shape, please feel free to contact us on info@nucleus.co.za and we’ll do our best to help you with that.

How do I choose the right size?
Each product page includes a size guide to help you find the perfect fit. If you’re unsure, contact us for assistance at info@nucleus.co.za
Do you offer plus-size lingerie and clothing?
Yes! We specialize in plus-size lingerie and clothing, ensuring great fit and comfort for all body types. We generally go up to a 5xl but larger sizes can be accomodated, please feel free to contact us on info@nucleus.co.za
What if my item doesn’t fit?
We accept returns and exchanges within 14 days, provided the item is unworn,un-washed, un-altered and in original condition. Visit our Returns & Exchanges page for details.
Shipping & Returns
Where do you deliver?
We deliver throughout South Africa, we endeavour to get your parcel to you within 7 days from order but sometimes we may need a bit more time. We also ship internationally through our courier service which takes approximately 10 days (depending where you reside) after production.
What is your return/exchange policy?
Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of receiving your order. Items must be unworn, un-washed, un-altered and in their original condition. Visit our Returns & Exchanges page for details.
Do you offer international shipping?
We do offer international shipping to various chosen countries, if you don’t see your country or need more info than our Nucleus FAQ’s provide please contact us on info@nucleus.co.za to find out if we can accomodate you.
Slow Fashion & Sustainability
What makes your brand a slow fashion brand?
We focus on quality over quantity, producing only what is needed. Our garments are made to last, reducing fashion waste. We’ve had clients that have had our clothing for over 20 years and are still wearing them and they’re still relevant.
How does made-to-order reduce waste?
By only producing when an order is placed, we avoid overproduction and excess inventory, helping to keep textiles out of landfills.
Are your materials sustainably sourced?
We prioritize high-quality, durable fabrics sourced from trusted suppliers to ensure longevity and comfort. We try to keep low stock of fabrics and only buy what we need when we need it.

Payments & Discounts
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit/debit cards, EFT payments, and mobile payment options for secure transactions through our trusted payment gateway Ikhokha.
Do you offer discounts or promo codes?
Sign up for our newsletter to receive 10% discount on your first order and to stay in-touch for special promotions.
Do you have a loyalty program?
No we don’t, however we’re constantly offering discounts on styles. We are the best place to buy Nucleus from but we also sell on Takealot.
Wholesale Opportunities
Do you offer wholesale partnerships?
Yes! We are looking for wholesale customers who align with our design aesthetic. If you’re interested, please fill out our Wholesale application here.
What types of stores do you supply?
We are especially interested in supplying niche stores, such as gift stores, bike stores (for men’s underwear), golf stores (for men’s underwear) and outdoor/lifestyle stores. If you are a retailer interested in stocking our products, please contact us at info@nucleus.co.za. Unfortunately we won’t supply to stores that only have an online presence, but will consider it if there is a brick ‘n mortar and online option.
